Select Eye Care Relocates to New Offices in Howard County
Dr. Scott LaBorwit, President of Select Eye Care is pleased to announce that on Monday, June 10th at 4:00p.m Howard County Executive Ken Ulman will be cutting the ribbon on their new 10,000 square foot state of the art office located at the Wellness Center at Meadowridge, 6020 Meadowridge Center Drive (Routes 100 &103) Elkridge, Maryland 21075.
Select Eye Care is a comprehensive ophthalmology practice offering a full spectrum of ocular specialties conveniently located in Towson, and their new location in Howard County. Their areas of expertise include cataracts, glaucoma, retinal care, and allergy and dry eye relief as well as LASIK vision correction. The team of doctors at Select Eye Care has over 50 years of combined experience providing superior patient care, and continuously adopts new technologies in order to offer their patients the latest in high quality eye care treatments.
Select Eye Care specializes in treating Cataracts and was the first to offer Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery in the greater Baltimore metropolitan region in April 2012 using the LenSX ™ laser. They have a permanent LenSX laser on site at the new Columbia Surgical Institute that adjoins their new office at the Wellness Center at Meadowridge. Using the LenSX laser in cataract surgery, allows for better precision and accuracy. Dr. LaBorwit is the most experienced surgeon using the LenSX laser procedure for cataract removal in the region and has performed the most LenSX procedures in the Baltimore area. Dr. LaBorwit is the first surgeon to perform bladeless laser cataract surgery using the LenSX laser in Howard County. In the past year Scott LaBorwit, MD has lectured nationally on using the LenSX laser for cataract surgery along with his partner, Robert Stutman, OD, MBA.
Dr. Scott LaBorwit, President and Founder of Select Eye Care, is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. After completing his ophthalmology residency at the Krieger Eye Institute of Sinai Hospital, Dr. LaBorwit completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. LaBorwit has lectured nationally and has been published in major peer-reviewed journals, including Ophthalmology and American Journal of Ophthalmology. He has also been a contributing author for teaching textbooks on glaucoma and eye injury. As a Board Certified ophthalmologist, Dr. LaBorwit’s special areas of expertise include cataract, glaucoma, and LASIK surgery.
Dr. LaBorwit currently serves as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Part-Time faculty, at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
